As a part of our new Elite Autopilot tier, Pod owners can now upgrade their software to include Health Check, a new report that surfaces disturbances to breathing and heartbeats, and provides deeper insights into resting heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), and breath rate trends – including outliers that could indicate illness. If you purchased a Pod before Dec 31, 2021, Health Check is already included in your membership.

Preventative health, without wearables

The Pod utilizes its powerful sensors within the Cover to track a user’s health seamlessly, reporting on metrics such as resting heart rate, breath rate, HRV, sleep stages, and more. After sleeping on the Pod consistently, it learns from each user’s typical patterns and establishes a personalized sleep and health baseline. With Health Check, it goes a step further – now identifying deviations from each user’s baseline metrics and displaying these insights on a clear timeline.

With Health Check, Eight Sleep aims to give users autonomy over their health, giving them daily insight into underlying conditions or lifestyle habits that may be impacting their sleep and wellbeing.

Health Check was developed using advanced machine learning algorithms and over 1 million hours of sleep data. The Eight Sleep Pod houses powerful, yet imperceivable, sensors that track a user’s health and sleep metrics with up to 99% clinical-grade accuracy. These sensors are able to detect even the slightest changes to a user’s heartbeat or breath rate, all while a user is sleeping. Thus, making Health Check the most powerful and advanced non-wearable sleep and health tracking solution directly available to consumers.

Cardiovascular disturbances 

Health Check’s heartbeat monitoring tracks a user’s regular heart rhythm throughout the night, identifying any shifts or inconsistencies in how their heart is beating compared to their normal range. Cardio disturbances are unusual patterns or rhythms in your heart rate while you sleep. These may include skipped beats, rapid heart rate episodes, or other events that can affect your sleep quality and recovery. By surfacing this data, Health Check enables users to spot potential issues that might otherwise go unnoticed.
