If you’re one of the millions of women struggling with hot flashes at night, you know how negatively they impact your sleep quality. The Pod offers a science-backed way to keep you cooler and more comfortable throughout the night.
Eight Sleep’s Clinical Research team presented new findings at the SLEEP conference 2025 in Seattle, WA, showcasing how the Pod can provide nighttime relief from hot flashes to menopausal women. The goal of the study was to explore how continuously the Pod impacts nighttime hot flashes and physical comfort.
Why reducing hot flashes matters
By 2030, 1.2 billion women (14% of the global population) will be menopausal, and about 80% of them will experience hot flashes. These sudden surges of heat can make it nearly impossible to get a good night’s rest, leading to groggy mornings and lower quality of life.
What did the study do?
Eight Sleep researchers worked with 38 menopausal women, who slept on the Pod for 10–14 nights. For the first 5-7 nights of the study, the Pod’s temperature control was turned OFF. For the second half of the study, the temperature regulation was turned ON, keeping the bed cooler throughout the night. Each night, women recorded their hot flashes, and the next morning, they completed surveys about their comfort and menopause symptoms with the Pod temperature controls OFF vs. ON.
The results? Fewer hot flashes, more comfort
- Hot flashes dropped by 54% when the Pod’s temperature control was ON
- 65% of women experienced 50% fewer hot flashes per night compared to Pod OFF
- With Pod temperature control on, women reported improved menopausal symptoms, especially physical comfort.
What does this mean for menopausal women?
The Pod can be an effective non-pharmacological solution in helping reduce menopausal nighttime hot flash frequency and therefore improve physical comfort during sleep.
