Eight Sleep is well-known for helping members get a better night’s rest with pioneering sleep technology. With our latest app update, we aim to make your mornings even brighter.
The 2025 Spring Release introduces significant updates that unlock a new level of personalized sleep, including smarter alarms, richer sleep and health insights, and more intuitive Pod controls.
Release notes from our CEO
“I listen closely to feedback from members on how we can continue to push our experience to be world-class. From requests for a way to make easier temperature adjustments to wanting better insights into their data, we redesigned the entire app to tackle some of these tasks and more – setting the stage for the app as a platform for even more innovation. Our brand-new codebase allows us to continue shipping releases faster and better. This is only the beginning.”

A new, streamlined navigation and Home screen
As our feature set evolved, there was a growing need to enhance the navigation of the app while maintaining easy access to core features.
A simplified navigation bar for easy access
We reduced the main screens from four pages down to two – Home and Sleep and Health report. Everything but your report is in one view – on the Home page.

Access your temperature settings for any time of night – now, Bedtime, Night and Dawn
We merged the Temperature page with the Home screen to keep the temperature controls at the heart of your app experience. You can easily adjust your Pod’s current temperature or update the Bedtime, Night, and Dawn phase settings in just a few taps.
Easily toggle alarms on and off
You can now toggle your upcoming alarm ON and OFF directly from the Home screen, as well as snooze or dismiss them. Plus tap into the detail page to manage all of your alarms and wake up preferences – from classic vibration and temperature settings to new Autopilot alarm presets.
View notifications from Autopilot
Access your Autopilot recap at any time via the icon on the top right of the Home screen. Plus, the home screen now spotlights any insights and key messages coming from Autopilot as a banner at the center of the page.
Control elevation modes from one location
If you have Pod 4 Ultra, you now have an elevation shortcut directly in the Home screen, to manage your Base presets anytime.
A simplified menu to manage your profile
The menu at the top right of the Home screen is simplified, so you can easily manage your devices, profiles and membership.
Switch between your side and your partner’s side
You can still quickly toggle between you and your partner’s profiles by tapping the name at the top of the Home screen – whether it’s to adjust their temperature or snooze their alarm.
A reimagined sleep and health report, with deeper insights that are easier to understand
We revamped the Sleep and Health Report so you can more easily evaluate the status of your health. In the new report you’ll find deeper views of your data, helpful indicators of what is considered healthy, and see that data that matters most is better prioritized.

A reorganized report that prioritizes details you care about
We applied a new prioritization system to the report, so the first things you see are the most important. We still start with the Sleep Fitness Score, telling you if you’re in range or out of range, and with the key inputs of the score directly below it so you can quickly evaluate if deductions are due to time slept, consistency, or quality. Next, you’ll see dynamic insights from Autopilot, notifying you of how Autopilot adjustments helped improve your Deep and REM sleep. We also pulled essential sleep metrics like REM and Deep sleep up top as two of our most viewed metrics.
New benchmarks for easy interpretation
New benchmarks across the entire report add more detail to each of your metrics so you can easily understand if you’re within a healthy range or need to give something closer attention. Green and red dots help guide what is in and out of range at a glance. We’ve also added context to what is considered average or healthy for each metric based on your historical trends or what is considered healthy for your age and gender.
A new view of your sleep and health metrics
We’ve updated the view of your sleep – including sleep consistency, the amount of time you spend asleep in each phase, total time slept, and more – all benchmarked to tell you if you’re in or out of range. Your biometric data has also been simplified – taking the guesswork out of health monitoring. New benchmarks highlight your relevant ranges based on your age and gender – indicating which are in a healthy range.

Expanded detail views that put your data under a microscope
New detail views feature more in-depth, expanded look at your metrics – highlighting data on weekly basis, monthly basis, and within the last year. Some metrics even include daily views that let you review your metrics 5 minute intervals. Detail views have also been updated with benchmarks, as well as detailed visualizations and graphs that breathe meaning into your data. You can scrub along the graphs or tap into each data point to get details on the precise points in each visualization. Plus, the new codebase unlocks lighting fast loading times – so there are no delays in accessing your data.
Add context to your sleep sessions with tagging
You can still utilize the tagging feature to monitor how factors like a late meal or glass of wine impact your sleep and health. You can also edit your sleep sessions as needed to better reflect your night of sleep.
New AI-powered alarms offer a whole new way to wake up
We’re introducing a new setting to the member-favorite alarm feature, which utilizes Autopilot 3.2’s advanced AI to wake you up with intelligent timing. In addition to this new setting,, we’ve also dissolved the Routines tab – creating a new page solely for your Alarms and moving Bedtime to be managed from the home screen.

New smart alarm ensures you wake up while you are in light sleep
With this new smart alarm setting, Autopilot ensures you wake at the perfect moment – during a light sleep phase. It tracks your sleep stages through the night and wakes you up in your lightest sleep phase within 30 minutes of your set alarm time. For example, if you set your alarm time to 8 AM, but the Pod detects that you’re in light sleep at 7:45 AM, it will trigger in light sleep when it’s easiest for you to wake up without feeling groggy.
Combine settings for a fully custom wake up experience
You can still have as many alarms as you want – coordinated with different days of the week to best fit your schedule. Choose the wake up method of your preference: wake up with vibration, or temperature, or both. You can decide to enable the new smart alarm setting on top of your vibration and thermal preferences for the ultimate wake up experience.
