Pod 5 is our most advanced sleep system yet, offering fully immersive temperature control when pairing the Cover with the new Blanket, customizable elevation, snoring mitigation, and integrated soundscapes for a deeper, more personalized sleep experience. It also features new tap-to-control buttons to easily adjust temperature, elevation, alarms, and sounds without using your phone.
A new Blanket offering double the thermal coverage
The new Blanket is a hydro-powered blanket that connects to the Cover and extends dynamic temperature regulation around your entire body. By adding the Blanket, users will experience double the thermal coverage as they would with the Cover alone – encapsulating them fully in their optimal sleeping temperature from above and below.
The Blanket weighs 12-pounds and nests into your existing duvet cover (or you can purchase the Eight Sleep duvet). It can sit on top of your bed acting as a comforter, or you can layer it with other blankets, coverlets, or comforters. To fully experience the benefits of the Blanket, we don’t recommend you use more than a flat sheet and your duvet cover between your body and the Blanket.
While you can technically use the Blanket without a duvet cover, we recommend using one as the Blanket itself is not washable. We’ve developed an Eight Sleep duvet cover custom-tailored to the new Blanket – featuring zippable openings on 3 sides, 100% woven modal material, and built-in snaps to keep the Blanket in place.
How can I get the Blanket?
The Pod 5 Cover is the only generation compatible with the Blanket, featuring two connectors, one for each side of the bed, specially designed for the Blanket. These connectors are discreetly tucked into the inside corners at the foot of the Cover. To use the Blanket, you’ll need to upgrade to Pod 5. Purchase Pod 5 with the Blanket here.
Physical buttons to control your Pod without a phone
Each side of the Pod Cover now features three physical buttons: a + button to increase temperature, a – button to decrease it, and a middle button that can be mapped to control either alarms or Base elevation—depending on your preference and setup.
Since each button is dedicated to a specific function, you’re also less likely to make the wrong adjustment by accident. The new buttons are also significantly more quiet to use. That means fewer disturbances for your partner if you’re making changes in the middle of the night.

An enhanced Base with surround-sound
The new Pod 5 Base model is equipped with a built-in speaker, allowing users to control the sound in their environment in addition to temperature and elevation. Whether it’s a snoring partner, street noise, or a racing mind, sound can make or break your rest. We developed the new Base to deliver high-quality audio scientifically designed to calm the body, mask disruptions, and guide you into deep sleep.
With the new Base, you’ll also gain access to a growing library of content, developed exclusively for Base owners – including science-backed “Non-Sleep Deep Rest” (NSDR) content developed in partnership with Andrew Huberman, soundscapes, and wake-up audio.

How can I access surround-sound?
The new Base model is only compatible with a Pod 4 or 5 Cover. To upgrade to the new Base, you’ll need to have either a Pod 4 or Pod 5. Purchase the Base here.
A new Autopilot tier, featuring proactive health monitoring
As a part of our new Elite Autopilot tier, Pod owners can now upgrade their software to include Health Check, a new report that surfaces disturbances to breathing and heartbeats, and provides deeper insights into resting heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), and breath rate trends – including outliers that could indicate illness.
- Comprehensive heartbeat insights: Detects disturbances to a user’s heartbeats, as well as the percentages of heartbeats through the night that were less regular.
- Detailed breathing insights: Detects disturbances in breathing during sleep, as well as the frequency of disturbances throughout the night.
- Health trend outlier detection: Identifies outliers in resting heart rate, HRV, and breath rate trends
Anyone with any previous Pod generation can access the Health Check feature if they choose the Elite Autopilot plan.
How can I access Health Check? You can get Health Check by upgrading to new Elite Autopilot plan. Navigate to the app and following the steps below:
- Navigate to the menu (upper right corner)
- Click “Profile”
- Scroll down and select “Manage Autopilot plan”
- Select “Elite w/ Health Check” plan
If you purchased a Pod before January 1, 2022, Health Check is already included in your membership.

You can easily upgrade to the latest Pod 5 generation to access new features and components. You can access your exclusive member pricing on our site by logging in with your Eight Sleep account or shopping directly from your Eight Sleep app.
As a bonus, members are free to keep their older Pod models. You can use your old Pod in another room, move it to another home, or even gift it to a friend or family member.
If you purchase another Pod, your new Pod will be automatically added to your current Autopilot membership, as long as you use the same app account. When your Pod is delivered, simply head to the Eight Sleep app, tap the menu, and select “+” under the Pods section. We allow you to have multiple Pods under the same membership, so your historical data will also automatically sync with your new Pod.

I ordered a Pod 4 and it still hasn’t been delivered. Can I change it for a Pod 5?
Yes. If your Pod hasn’t been delivered yet, you’re eligible to upgrade. If there’s a price difference, we’ll simply charge or refund the difference. You should have received an email with instructions to upgrade. Didn’t get it? Reach out to support@eightsleep.com and we’ll help you.
If I buy a new Pod, does it start a new 30-night trial?
Yes, you will have 30 nights to try Pod 5. If it’s not for you, return it for a full refund–return shipping included.
Is there a trade-in or buyback program for my old Pod?
No returns needed. Keep your old Pod and repurpose it in a guest room, move it to a second home, or gift it to friends or family. If you are going to give it to someone else, follow these instructions.
Does purchasing a new Pod restart or extend my warranty?
Every new Pod comes with a fresh new warranty, based on the Autopilot plan that you choose. Enhanced and Elite have 5 years, Standard is 2 years, and you have to keep paying for your plan to keep your warranty active.
Will my service be interrupted when buying a new Pod while I wait for the new one?
No, your current Pod will continue to operate normally. Once your new Pod arrives, go to your Eight Sleep app > menu > Pods > “+” to add a new Pod to your current account. You can manage multiple Pods from one account, sharing the same temperature settings and data reports between them.
